Father Melo is a Jesuit priest and active menber of the anti-coup resistance in Honduras. He is a long time human rights and social justice advocate and the director of one of the few independent media outlets (Radio Progreso) in Honduras. Since the military coup in Honduras in June 2009, Radio Progreso has been raided by the military and Padre Melo and staff have received death threats.

Translating Revolution: U.S. Artists Interpret Mexican Muralists











Opening reception February 12, 6 – 8 pm
Exhibition runs through August 1, 2010

This unique exhibition examines the influence of Mexican muralists on U.S. visual culture and the subsequent re-invention of the mural movement in the U.S. Artists from east to west gleaned inspiration from the Mexican mural in numerous ways. Some of the artists visited Mexico for months, while others stayed a lifetime and became Mexican citizens.
