“CONTRASTS”

“CONTRASTS”

Mutual artists who are motivated by industrial imagery which they translate to life imposing concerns.

Antonio Martinez and Jose Arceo

June 5th through August 20th, 2010

Reopening Reception: Saturday,  July 31st from 5:00 PM- 10:00 PM

Chicago, Illinois - Prospectus Art Gallery is pleased on presenting this exciting exhibition featuring two of the main Chicago artists.

Antonio was born in Chicago, as well as Jose Arceo, where they currently live and work. Mr. Martinez draws inspiration from the tangle of human relationships commonly rooted in the everyday. Mr. Arceo stencils breathe life through layering and texture.

The conjunction of these two artists will contribute to a memorable stimulating show. This exhibition will take place in the Pilsen neighborhood, the heart of today’s Mexican Renaissance. Your presence will strengthen the local development of the arts.

Religare: Artists explore the concept of Religion

Religare: Artists explore the concept of Religion

"Religare": according to Tom Harpur and Joseph Campbell the word Religion derives from the Latin word "ligare" which means "bind, connect", and combined with the prefix "re"= re-ligare, i.e. re (again) + ligare or "to reconnect". For this art exhibit, artists will create work that analizes and critiques the concept of religion.
